Our Objectives
The objectives of the institute are:
- To establish an organisation with national and international scope that serves researchers, lecturers, students, public agencies, development organisations and private-sector professionals.
- To unite Nigerians and global partners who are interested in empirical research, policy studies, data analysis and sustainable development.
- To promote professional standards that encourage the study and practice of research methodology, statistics, monitoring and evaluation, public policy and academic publishing.
- To periodically develop standards in empirical research and research ethics that align with Nigerian and international benchmarks.
- To conduct trainings, workshops, conferences and professional examinations in research-related subjects and issue certificates of merit based on performance.
- To maintain high professional standards by admitting to membership persons and institutions that satisfy the requirements of ERIN.
- To oversee the activities of members and encourage ethical conduct, originality, integrity and competence in research practice.
- To organise conferences, seminars and symposiums for the presentation of papers, research findings, books, journals and policy briefs.
- To promote the publication of journals, books and research reports that disseminate knowledge in empirical studies and national development.
- To advise government, private organisations and civil society on research-backed policy and development matters.
- To provide opportunities for networking and professional exchange among members, organisations and institutions.
- To enhance education, training and the exchange of information on research, data, innovation and development questions.
